This is a front view of what is most commenly known the Sphinx. The Sphinx is very similar to the Meatloaf, except the cats front legs are extended in front of him, instead of tucked under. The Sphinx isn't to be confused with the Waterskier, where the front legs are stretched all the way out, in a true Sphinx pose the elbows must be bent. |

Here is a side view of the Sphinx. Compare his bent elbows to the picture of Spike's Waterskier pose. Notice that Raven is sitting on a curved surface, which does affect the positioning of the Sphinx. |

Raven's personal favorite pose is the Statue. He was inspired to do this pose after a recent visit to the Egyptian exhibit at the museum. The Statue pose requires that all 4 feet are flat on the ground, the cat must be sitting fully upright and alert, and his or her tail is wrapped securely around the body or out straight in the back. The ears should be straight as possible, but never laying back. |
